HAMM, Hughie Robert “Bob”, 82 of Gold River, passed away February 27, 2010 at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Gold River he was a son of the late Roderick and Ora (Vaughan) Hamm. He sailed on the Great Lakes before joining the Canadian Army and completing two tours of duty in Korea. He then worked for 24 years at Maritime Paper, Dartmouth. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 44, Chester. He is survived by brother, Theodore, Chester Basin; four sisters, Jean Robertson, Plaster Rock, NB; Vida Arbuckle, London, ON: Bertha Boutilier, Seabright; Trena Hubbert, Niagara Falls; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald, Terrence and Harold. A graveside committal service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Western Shore Baptist Church Cemetery, Western Shore, Pastor Donald Dunn officiating, followed by a reception and remembrance gathering to be held in the lower level of Western Shore Baptist Church.
