RHULAND, Raymond Matthew “Ray”- 87, of Mahone Bay, passed
away December 13, 2011 at South Shore Regional Hospital,
Bridgewater.
Born January 10, 1924 in Mahone Bay, he was a son of the late John and Elsie (Barry) Rhuland. In earlier years, Ray provided taxi service to the people of his community and surrounding areas. He had worked at Paceship and later ABCO in Mahone Bay. A quiet man, he enjoyed walking and spending time at the former Schwartz and Rhuland Fina Station, Mahone Bay.
Ray is survived by his wife, Treva (Hyson) Rhuland; daughter, Linda Rhuland, Yarmouth; son, James, Mahone Bay; sisters-in-law, Rowena Rhuland, Mahone Bay; Geraldine Rhuland, Clearland; Phyllis (Hyson) Levy, Shoreham Village, Chester; several nieces and nephews .
He was predeceased by sister, Marion Rhuland; brothers, Albert, Earl, Harold “Hallie” (Hilda), William “Willie” (Joyce) and Dennis, who was killed in Sicily, August 2,1943 during action in the Second World War.
No visiting by request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011 at St. James’ Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Ian M. Wissler officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay.
