Robert F. "Bobby" Mader

Robert Freeman “Bobby” Mader, formerly of Mahone Bay, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2015 at Shoreham Village, Chester in his 89th year.

Born in Boston, Mass, he was the son of the late Oswald and Alice (Zinck) Mader.

Dad had an amazing past with an active involvement with many organizations in Mahone Bay. To name them is vast, most memorable are the Mahone Bay minor baseball, badminton club, Lions Club, St. James’ Anglican Church and the Lunenburg Housing Authority. He was very athletic in his younger years and was noted for his outstanding goal-tending abilities.

After two years, Dad has now joined his wife of 64 years, Doris, and many friends that have also passed.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Shoreham Village, you truly are angels from above, no words can thank you enough.

Bobby is survived by his sons, Edward (Linda), Bridgewater; Donald (Dale-Ann), Union Square; Mary (David) Rose, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Tracy (Tom) Dearing and their children, Jack and Sophie; Sara (Marcia) Mader; Lucas (Lisa) Mader; Peter (Andrea) Rose and their children, Amelia and Eli; Tracy (Chris) Lavallee and their children, Gregory and Ashlynn; Michelle (Todd) Forbes and their children, Caitlyn and Serina.

Bobby's life will be celebrated 2pm, Wednesday, November 4 at St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Ian Wissler officiating.

Donations, in Bobby's memory, may be made to St. James’ Anglican Church, Mahone Bay.
