Susie I. Slauenwhite

Susie Ileen Slauenwhite. After a happy and fulfilling life, Susie Slauenwhite, formerly of Mahone Bay, age 91, passed away peacefully in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Wednesday, July 20, 2016.

Born on Big Tancook Island in 1924 and living most of her life in Mahone Bay, she was the daughter of the late Hovey and Maude (Cross) Slauenwhite.

Susie will be sadly missed by her sister, Betty Salsman, Dartmouth and loving nieces, Sherry Scott, Waverley; Annette Cossar, Dartmouth; Paulette MacLeod, Truro, as well as extended family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her caring sister, Marguerite Cross; brothers in law, Clemence Cross and Whiley Salsman.

Susie will be remembered for her many talents such as drawing, sketching, gardening, and her love of nature, especially feeding her birds and her many cats.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Cedarstone, Truro for their care of Susie over the past few years.

No visitation by her request. A graveside service will be held 2pm, Saturday, July 23 in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay, Rev. James Haughn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mahone Bay Baptist Church.
