Joyce Elizabeth Barry, age 92 of Blockhouse. It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful, warm, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin and friend. Joyce passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 11, 2016 with her loving family by her side.

She will be missed beyond measure, leaving cherished memories behind.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gertie (Ernst) Joudrey. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay. She was a former member of the Blockhouse Firemen's Auxiliary, the Blockhouse Women's Institute, the Blockhouse Golden Years Club and the Blockhouse Lutheran Ladies Aide. Her favourite pastimes were gardening, sewing quilts, playing cards and her house plants. She always had a smile and a great sense of humour.

She is survived by daughter, Jane Winchcombe, Blockhouse; son, John Barry, Halifax; granddaughter, Rachel Winchcombe, Blockhouse; grandson, Jason and his wife, Amanda Winchcombe, Dieppe NB; great-grandson Bryson Winchcombe, Dieppe NB; cousins, Shirley Swinamer and Jean Crossland, both of Mahone Bay.

She was predeceased by her husband, Murray and her brother, Ronald.

Visitation will be 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay, Pastor Adam Snook officiating.

Burial will be in the Old Blockhouse Cemetery, Blockhouse.

Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Garden of Rest Cemetery Fund, Blockhouse.
