David J. Lahey
LAHEY, David Joseph 1962-2016. It is with heavy hearts that we, his family, announce the passing of David on Monday, September 26, 2016.

He was born in Chatham, N.B., and was the son of Raymond and the late Patricia (Sept. 11, 2016) Lahey.

Besides his father, David is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Anita (Leger); his son, Daniel and his daughter, Katherine, all of Maitland; his brothers, Patrick, Calgary, Alta., Michael (Barbara), Miramichi, NB; William (Kathryn), Halifax; his sisters, Catherine (Ron) O’Toole, Clovis, Calif., USA; Anna (Michael) Rutter and Beth, all of Miramichi, NB; Kim (Dave) Henry, Halifax. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Genevieve Browne, Shediac, NB; several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

After high school graduation, David moved to Shediac where he worked, met and married his wife, Anita. They then moved to Truro where David completed his Diploma in Plant Sciences Horticulture at NSAC. He worked in the agricultural/greenhouse nursery industry in Lunenburg County until he established his own farm in 2010.

David will also be greatly missed by his many dear and loyal friends in the farming community, especially vendors and customers at local Farmer’s Markets. Dave will also be remembered by all who knew him as someone who faced adversity, including his long battle with cancer, with courage and perseverance and even with his remarkable sense of humour. He was a trooper in the true sense of the word! He will be greatly missed.

Visiting hours will be held 6-8pm, Thursday, Sept. 29 at Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay.

Memorial donations are requested to be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
