Ruth M. Whynot


Ruth Mildred Whynot, age 101, formerly of Indian Point, passed away peacefully, with her family present, November 23, 2016 at Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay.

Born in Waterloo, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Elsie (Wile) Wile.

Ruth was a very kind and gracious lady who took a great interest in her family and community. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, always remembering them on special occasions. She was committed to her church and faith.

She is survived by her son, Wayne, Mahone Bay; daughter-in-law, Evangeline Whynot, Northwest; grandchildren, Barry (Kelli) Whynot, Carol (Stewart) Steven, Robert (Pamela) Whynot, Kimberly (Martin) Dowse, Craig (Kathy) Whynot, Bradley (Chelsea) Whynot; ten great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; niece, Doreen Wentzell, Oakland.

She was predeceased by her husband, Colin Whynot; son, Fenwick Whynot; grandson, Jeffrey Whynot; sister, Ruby Faulkenham; brother, Herbert Wile.

No visiting by request. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay, Reverend Adam Snook officiating. Burial will be in Indian Point Park Cemetery, Indian Point.

Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Indian Point Park Cemetery.
