Rev. Andrew P. Shute

Rev. Andrew Paul Shute, 84 of Gold River, Lunenburg Co., died Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax.

Born January 28, 1933, at home in Martins Point, he was the son of the late Rev. Burton Shupe and Janet Shupe (Miller).

He served as Pastor in ministry in Sundre, Alberta from 1978-1988 associated with the PHCC Church of Canada. He next served in ministry at Bethel Mission until 2016 in Martins Point. His love of the Lord and desire to see people come to know Jesus as their personal Saviour was a key motivation of his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Richardson-Conrad); daughter, Heather Keating (John), Halifax; son, Graham (Rhonda), Alberta; step son, Roy Conrad (Nanette), Western Shore; sisters, Faith Hiltz-Litt (Simon), Martins Point and Esther Swinamer (Clark), Martins Point; grandchildren, Melissa Keating, Halifax; Andrew Keating (Amie), Lower Sackville; Aimie Trenholm (Cameron), Alberta; Erik Shute (Nicky), Alberta; Erinn Juuti (James), Alberta; step granddaughter, Amy Conrad, Halifax; 8 great grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, Grace, Paityn, Lexie, Annahlyn, Nate, and Silas.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Miriam Greta Shute (Vaughan); daughter, Katherine and son, Terry; brothers, David (Sackville) and Robert (Alberta); sisters Velma Low(Shute), Martins Point and Lillian Hiltz (Shute),Martins Point.

Visitation will be held 7-9pm, Tuesday, July 11 at Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held 11am, Wednesday, July 12 at the Aenon Baptist Church, Chester Basin. Reception will follow the celebration. Rev. Jerry Kendrick, Maritime Conference Director of the PHCC Church of Canada, and Pastor Joseph Green, officiating.

Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Western Shore Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
