Susan E. Rhodenizer

1952-2019

Susan E. Rhodenizer

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Susan Rhodenizer announces her passing on February 23, 2019 in Fisherman's Memorial Hospital.

Born in Bridgewater on October 26, 1952, Susan was a daughter of the late Randolph Amos and Lena Viola (Moser) Rhodenizer.

She is survived by her sister, Pauline Dykeman (Richard, deceased), Truro; brothers, Gordon (Wilma), Mahone Bay, Clifford (Jeanne), Bridgewater and Donald (Cathy), Bridgewater.

Susie loved her nieces and nephews and their families “as if they were my own”; Edward “Ted” (Andrea), Phillip (Dawn), and Richard “Ricky” (Tracy) Dykeman; Annette (Alex ) and Graham Rhodenizer; Clinton (Trudy) and Susan (Craig) Rhodenizer; Amanda (Brian) and Andrew (Erin) Rhodenizer; Jean (Jamie) Lees and Richard (Rochelle) Rhodenizer.

Susan was predeceased by half brother Robert Rhodenizer and his wife Mary.

Susan was blessed with many close and faithful friends. She had a strong faith in God, gave generously of herself to friends, family, and people she would meet. Each day, each encounter, each event was special to Susie. Her recaps of these stories always brightened our days and her laugh will always be firmly embedded in our hearts and memories.

Susan loved her work, from the Save Easy in Mahone Bay, to the QEII in Halifax, to the Fox Point Market near Hubbards, and her 30 plus years with the Independent Grocer (Save Easy) in Lunenburg. She enjoyed her years as the solo trombonist for the Mahone Bay Legion Band, appreciated wildlife, and loved to be at the beach, any beach, but especially Hirtle's Beach.

A visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019 in Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay.

Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
