Marie May Eisan

1927-2019

Marie May Eisan
EISAN, Marie May Eisan, 92, formerly of Halifax, passed away in Mahone Bay. (March 5, 1927- June 20, 2019).

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful friend, Marie Eisan.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (nee Usher) Eisan.

Pre-deceased by her two brothers, William Vernon and Ernest Eisan.

She is survived by her niece, Valerie and her husband, Fred Lanteigne; Goddaughters, Melissa and Amanda Williams, and her good friend of 48 years, Bonnie Yates and her life long friend, Agnes MacDonald and good friend, Pearl Mitchell. Marie had several nieces and nephews and in her own words “was blessed with many wonderful friends”.

She retired from Sears in Halifax after 38 years. She was an Associate member of the White Ensign branch of the Royal Canadian Legion on Almon Street, Halifax for many years. She was an excellent bowler and darts player in her day. She loved to sing and laugh and have lots of good natured fun with her many friends. Sadly, many of them have gone before her but for those of us who are left we will always remember her as a loving friend.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 5th in the Old Riverside Cemetery, Musquodobit Harbour, Rev. Jeanne Manning Stright to officiate.

Marie asked to be buried with her brother “Ern” and next to their parents.

We wish to thank all the staff at the Mahone Nursing Home for their excellent care given to her and to Nurse Practitioner, Schelene Swinemar. They made her stay there welcoming, loving and fun. They called her “Sweet Marie”.

Cremation has taken place and we thank Mahone Funeral Home for their assistance and valued suggestions.

Memorial donations may be made to Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay.
