Penny Fralic

Penny is gone; my beautiful daughter, my first born. The body that no longer sustains her life remains, but her spirit and her very essence has floated through those golden gates where she will forever find peace, love and forgiveness. Her stay with us was not a long one, only 44 years; far to young to die, in my opinion. In her short stay with us, Penny had several different jobs: Bartender, waitress, short-order cook, but the one she really loved and became her passion was helping others. When she went to work in the nursing home in Halifax and found herself in the Alzheimer’s ward, she knew she had found her passion. Her patients ahd stolen her heart, and she truly loved them for it.

Penny loved many things: Animals, music, scary movies, good food, baking, and people. She would strike up a conversation with anyone whether in a grocery store or at the bus stop. She often baked cookies so she could share them with others in her apartment building. Penny had dislikes also: People that were rude, waiting for a bus in the freezing cold or rain, and hot flashes.

Penny has left behind her mother, Yvonne Fitch Fralic (Dave), Western Shore; and her two brothers, Owen Fralic Jr., Windsor Road and Jonathan Fralic (Megan), Bridgewater; no nieces or nephews, but several aunts and uncles and many cousins. Penny was predeceased by her father, Owen William Fralic Sr.; her maternal and paternal grandparents; her aunt, Esther Rafuse; her uncle, Robert Fitch; and three of her cousins, Tammy Irene Fralic, Kathleen Rafuse Haase, and Julie Whynot Kelly.

One thing I know for sure: There is one glorious family reunion going on in heaven as they welcome Penny into their loving arms. Soar high, my beautiful daughter, for although your life on this earth has ended, your new journey has just begun.

A memorial service will be held 11am, Wednesday, October 9th in New Hope Community Church, Western Shore, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Burial will be in the Pentecostal Cemetery, Western Shore.
