LeRoy Hiltz

LeRoy Hiltz
HILTZ, LeRoy Eldon “Poppy”, 88, of Martin’s Point passed away October 18, 2019, surrounded by his family at Shoreham Village, Chester.

Born in Indian Point and raised in Martin’s Point, he was the son of the late Jesson and Eldora Hiltz.

Dad was a hard-working man, meticulous and detailed with all his work; and was known affectionately as “the man of the dozer.” Dad loved to tell a good joke and loved to play practical jokes. He loved to be surrounded by his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved very much. Dad will live on in our hearts and we will treasure our loving memories of him forever.

Dad is finally at peace and is with the love of his life, Betty (Momma).

LeRoy is survived by his daughters Valerie (Andrew) DeMont, Chester Basin; Janet (John) Olsen, Chester; Kathy (David) Swinamer, Martin’s River; JoAnn (Andrew) Hiltz, Martin’s Point; Judy (David) Eisnor, Martin’s Point; son Bill (Emmie) Hiltz, Hubbards; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents Jesson and Eldora Hiltz, his wife Betty, and his brother Lowell and sister-in-law Shirley.

No visitation by request. Private service and burial for immediate family only.

Memorial donations may be made to Shoreham Village, Chester, NS, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The family would like to thank the staff at Shoreham Village for all their care and compassion for LeRoy and his family during this difficult time. Words are not enough for all your kindness, love, and care for dad.
