Greta M. DeMond
Greta Madelyn DeMond, age 93, formerly of Upper Cornwall, passed away November 7, 2019 at Shoreham Village Senior Care Facility, Chester, NS.

Born in Maplewood on March 22, 1926, she was the daughter of James Alvin and Lizzie (Falkenham) Corkum.

She moved from Maplewood to Newburne at a young age and lived there until she was married at which time she moved to Cornwall. Greta was a full time wife and mother. She worked along side her husband in the poultry and egg business for Quality Poultry. She enjoyed company and would have a meal ready for anyone who wanted to stay. She loved music and was ready to go to any show or jam that she could.

She was predecessed by her husband of 65 years George, daughter Dianne (Carol) Oickle, sons-in-law Carroll Nauss and Robert Veinotte, grandson In-law Barry Spidle, brother Donald, infant brother Leon, teen brother Carmen, sisters Isabelle (Leaman) Wentzell, Daisy (Reginald) Carter.

She is survived by daughters Juanita (Clyde Seymour) Veinotte, Lower Cornwall, Anice (George Rhuland) DeMond, Blockhouse and Genevieve (Frank) Eisner, Maitland;
Seven grandchildren, Joanne Spidle, Cindy (Andrew) Langille, Troy and Cory Veinotte, Kim (Tony) Selig, Andrea (Kevin Bolivar) DeMond, Dwayne Eisner; Four step grandchildren Jeffrey Eisner,Trina (Troy) Cleveland, Jordon and Shana Seymour; Seven great grandchildren, Justin (Candace), Jasmine and Giselle Spidle, Sheldon, Matthew and Adrianna Langille, Taylor (Joshua Totten) Winters; Three step great grandchildren Haley and Melanie Selig, Klay Cleveland; Three great great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren. Brothers, Ellis (Marilyn) Corkum, Ontario; Arlee Corkum, Western Shore; Sisters, Eva (Herbert) Barkhouse and Olive (Benjamin) Sawler, both of Western Shore; Many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Shoreham Village for their care and compassion for Mom and her family during her stay with them.

Cremation has taken place. No visitation or service by request.

Family attended burial at later date.

Donations may be made to Upper Cornwall Community Hall, Cornwall Fire Department or Charity of choice.
