William "Bill"  Thomas Rose
ROSE, William "Bill" Thomas. Age 76 of Martin’s Point, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 with his wife, June by his side.

Born on October 8, 1943 in Hermitage, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Maxwell and Rachel (Framp) Rose. Married in 1969, he and June settled in Lunenburg County where he was a scallop fisherman for his entire career. He fished aboard vessels out of Adams and Knickle, Scotia Trawlers and Clearwater. Bill enjoyed socializing with his friends & family, playing a good game of cards or crib, and going for a drive to spend time near the ocean. He was especially gifted at playing his favorite Newfoundland tunes on his accordion. He will be deeply missed by his many friends, fishing buddies, and family in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, June (Joudrey); brothers Roy (Christine), Rhodes Corner; Ralph (Christine) Bonavista, Newfoundland; sister-in-law, Leona Levy; step-daughter, Vivian (Peter) Rafuse and step-grandchildren, Angela and Amy. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Cecil and David (Kathy) Joudrey and sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Kevin) Veinotte and Ruby Dennis, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins; dear friend, John Critchell and his beloved cat, Farley.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Lorne and Albert; step-son, Dwight “Butch” Joudrey; parents-in-law, Thomas & Florence Joudrey and sister-in-law, Judy Rafuse.

Arrangements are entrusted to Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Until we are able to get together for a memorial service at a later date, let’s raise a glass in Bill’s memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
