Cedric T. Lohnes

1925-2014

Cedric T. Lohnes

Cedric Theodore Lohnes - 89, passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Tilly, by his side at their home in Maitland, Lunenburg County on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.

Born in Upper Northfield, March 11, 1925, he was a son of the late Harvey and Ethelyne Lohnes.

Cedric lived life to the fullest. Much of his early life was spent working in the woods, building homes and in his later years, selling used cars, which was his passion. He was a man of many talents from planting his gardens and taking great pride in watching his seeds grow, to square dancing and playing the mouth organ. His many hobbies included playing cards, attending the local music jams and the many hours on his beloved tractor. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and adored his granddaughters. His infectious laugh and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Cedric is survived by the love of his life, Matilda “Tilly”, his bride of almost 58 years. He will be forever cherished by his children, Derek (Gale), Todd and Michelle Temple (Jim). He was the best “Bamp” to his loving granddaughters, Emma, Holly and Courtney Lohnes; Kaylee and Lillian Temple. He is also survived by his brother, Cyril and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his special niece, Melinda "Sis", who was like a second daughter and special brother-in-law, David.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Hilton, James and Cameron.

A special thank you to Dr. David Abriel, Dr. Carmen O’Neill and the V.O.N. for their compassionate care.
