Thelma F. Ernst

Thelma Florence Ernst, age 98, formerly of Western Shore, passed away peacefully, September 6, 2014 in Shoreham Village, Chester.

Born in Martin’s Point, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Vaughan) Rafuse.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. She was loved very much by all of her family and will be dearly missed.

Thelma is survived by her daughters, Jean Asselin (Phillip, deceased) and Elizabeth Kielbratowski (Chris, deceased); sons, John (Marion) Ernst, William (Sandra) Ernst and Ralph (Edith) Ernst; sister, Dorothy (Chipman) Swinemar; brothers, Robert (Margaret Rose) Rafuse, Archie (Loretta) Rafuse and Raymond (Nellie) Rafuse; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Earl Linwood Ernst; sisters, Florence and Eliza; brothers, Lewis, Edward and Theodore.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay where a memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014 with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin’s Cemetery, Martin’s River.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Martin’s River; Shoreham Village or a charity of your choice.
