Elias Pardy,age 91. It is with a heavy heart that the family of Elias Pardy of Bridgewater and formerly of Mader’s Cove, announce his sudden passing on Friday, November 28, 2014 at home.

Born in Harbour Mille, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Edwin and Mary-Ellen (Baker) Pardy.

Elias spent over 50 years on the Grand Banks. He was well known, loved and respected in the community. He was known in Lunenburg as one of the last “Grand Bankers”. He was a faithful member of St. James’ Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, and also had attended Calvary Temple, Mahone Bay.

Elias is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara (Knickle); children, Linda (Robert) Trainor, Liverpool; Ida (Clyde) Carroll, Bridgewater; Edwin (Judy) Pardy, Woodstock, NB; Mary-Ellen (Michael) Bonang, Dartmouth; Lawrence (Tammy) Pardy, Aroostook, NB; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Triffy (Pete) Anesty, Salt Pond, Newfoundland. He will be missed by the family dog, Silken.

Visiting hours will be held 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m, Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at St. James’ Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, The Rev. Ian M. Wissler officiating.

Interment will be at a later date.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Diabetes Association.
