Reginald C. "Reggie" Wilkins


WILKINS, Reginald Charles “Reggie”, Gold River, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, at the age of 74, December 29, 2014 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Hamilton, Ont., he was the son of the late Arthur and Laura Wilkins.

He is survived by his wife, Anne, Gold River; sons, Kenneth (Lorraine), Toronto, Ont.; Roger (Emilie), Keswick, Ont.; step daughter, Sherry (Jon) Flaman, Hamilton, Ont.; step son, Richard (Tara) MacAloney, Desbarats, Ont.; grandchildren, Emily-Anne and Kevin, Toronto, Ont.; nine step grandchildren, Tia (Jordan), Joshua (Sara), Jonathan (Kate), Brent, Ricky (Amanda), Eric (Christy), Arrienna, Isaac and Charity; step great grandchildren, Jayden, Isabella, Jackson; special step nephew, Brad Mingo and his family, Keswick, Ont.; brother, Ken (June), Gilford, Ont..

He was predeceased by brother, Dennis (Shirley), Hamilton, Ont..

From the age of 16, Reggie was a jeweller and gem setter in Toronto, Ont. until his retirement in 2008 when he moved to Gold River where he and his wife, Anne, enjoyed a content, country life. He suffered with heart disease since 1997 and began a downward spiral over the past three years with strokes and heart attacks. He was a kind and gentle-hearted person who lived life to the fullest, doing his jewellery work that he loved amongst other things as scuba diving and under-water cinematography.

Visiting will be held 7-9 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at Calvary Temple, Mahone Bay, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Burial will be in Western Shore Cemetery.

Memorial donations be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
