Lloyd L. Hatt Sr.
Lloyd Lewis Hatt Sr., age 78 of Martin’s River, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2014.

He was born in Western Shore and was a son of the late Lawrence Hatt and Carrie (Hamm) Riordan.

Lloyd was a proud and active Mason from 1956 until 2014 where he served for a term as Master of Charity Lodge No. 69, Mahone Bay and later affiliated with Clarke Lodge No. 61, Chester. He then obtained the rank of Noble within the Philae Shriners organization and was a member of the Scottish Rite. Prior to retirement, Lloyd was employed at Moosehead Breweries as a fermentologist. He was a small engine repair hobbyist and an avid outdoorsman, passing this passion on to his sons. He took a lot of joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

Lloyd was predeceased by his brother, Donald; his niece, Michelle and a sister in infancy.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Mercure); children, Lloyd Jr., William (Marlene), Craig (Christine), all of Martin’s River; Lynn (Cyril), Mt. Uniacke; Lana (Marcel), Greenville, South Carolina; Johnny (Mary), Martin’s River; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jenna, Joshua, Rachel, Claire, Jessie, Alexis, John; great granddaughter, Jayda; sisters, Jean (Chester), Anna (Jonathan); brothers, David (Janet), Aubrey; many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd will always be remembered for quoting Judge Judy, “If you listen, you will learn something!”.

No visiting. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at St. Martin’s Cemetery, Martin’s River, Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Martin’s River.
