Robert Wm. "Bobby" Saltman


Robert Wm. “Bobby”Saltman. Age 78, of Clearland, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Clearland, he was the son of the late Edgar and Marjorie (Saltman) Strum.

In earlier years, Bobby worked as an electronics technician with the former Crocker’s Electronics, Mahone Bay. Being a master woodworker, Bobby was then employed at Nova Wood Products, Northwest from where he retired. He was a former member of Mahone Bay Fire Department, having served as Chief. He was a longtime member of the Newfoundland Club, Dartmouth. For many years he was an ambulance driver for the former Mahone Ambulance Service. Bobby was a dedicated volunteer and handyman at Trinity United Church for many years. He will be remembered for his unique way of telling stories and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, church and community.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Eunice (White) Saltman; stepdaughter, Carol (Duane)Zwicker; grandchildren, Adriana Cleveland, Brandon and Logan Zwicker; great grandchildren, Cashius John Cleveland and Ocean Rose Cleveland.

No visiting by request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Lee Simpson officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Trinity United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Hillside Cemetery, Clearland.
