Vina V. Lantz

Vina V. LANTZ (DeMont), age 93, passed away peacefully in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, on June 16, 2015. Born in Gold River, Lun. Co., to the late Jenny (Zwicker) DeMont and the late Joseph DeMont, she was the last surviving of eight children.

She was predeceased by her husband and friend, Quinton V. Lantz, her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, William A. DeMont and Amy L. M. (Reynolds) DeMont; granddaughter, Susan.

Surviving grandchildren are Trinda (Mario); Carrie (Donovan); Kellie (Paul); eight great grandchildren, Will, Jonathan, Daniel, Nikolas, Matt, Samantha, Kristopher, Chandler; four great great grandchildren, Madison, Jordann, Lawson, Thomas.

Vina, better known as “Bine” to her family, loved to dance, sing and play games. One of her favourite pastimes was to attend the “card game” in Western Shore. She was a lifelong Canadian Legion member and volunteer. She enjoyed attending Legion dances with her husband and friends. For many years, Vina worked at the Vogue Theatre in Halifax where she took great pride in her work. For the past four years, Vina resided at the Northwood Care Facility, Halifax, where she avidly took part in the many activities. She made many friends at Northwood, including many of the employees!

Visitation will be held 1 - 2 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay and to be followed by a graveside service at Western Shore Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
