William A. Verge

William Allen Verge, of Martins’ Point, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax.

Born in Liverpool, December 9, 1935, he was a son of the late William and Freda (Vail) Verge.

He enjoyed spending time with family and working with his hands as a carpenter. He also loved being a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Dorey); sons, William, Lawrence, Melvin; daughter, Darlene O’Quinn; sisters, Betty Hanrahan, Pauline Reid, Doris Verge; brother, Robert; 9 grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Allan.

At William’s request, no visitation. A private memorial service for family will be held at Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay, Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Parkinson’s Society Canada.
