R. M. Brent Crowhurst
1947-2015
February 2, 1947 - July 29, 2015. Passed away peacefully at his home
in Mahone Bay with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
Brent was born in Moncton N.B., in 1947, a son of the late Robert and
Vivian Crowhurst. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Crowhurst;
daughter, Marlee and her fiancé, Ian Lawson; son, Mason and
sisters, Lois Gray and Sharon Fraser. Brent joined the R.C.M.P at the
age of 18 in 1966. His career in policing continued for 50 years. He
retired from the R.C.M.P. to take the position of Chief of Police,
Lunenburg Police Department in 1992. He assumed the position of Chief
of Police of the amalgamated Lunenburg/Mahone Bay Police Service in
1996. He rejoined the R.C.M.P. as Ops NCO of Lunenburg County in
2001. He retired again from the R.C.M.P. to take the position of
Chief of Police of Bridgewater Police Service in 2002. He was
inducted as a Member of the Order of Merit of Policing in 2009. He
took a secondment to the R.C.M.P. as Bureau Director of Criminal
Intelligence Service Nova Scotia in 2011 until present. There will be
a graveside service for family and friends on Monday, August 3rd at 11
a.m., in Park Cemetery off Kinburn Street in Mahone Bay. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Nova Scotia
