SMELTZER, Arlean Amy - 75.

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we are announcing the sudden passing of Arlean Amy Smeltzer of Mahone Bay on July 7, 2021 in South Shore Regional Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late George and Amy (Barry) Rost Mosher and the step-daughter of the late Percy Mosher.

Arlean belonged to many organizations and held a variety of positions in those organizations over the years. She was a member of the Trinity United Church Women, Mahone Bay, sang in the church choir and sat on the inter-church council. She loved – her friends, a good card game, a chat over a cup of coffee or tea, doing something for someone else and her grandkids.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carrie-Anne and Matthew Finney, Dieppe, NB; grandchildren, Gillian and Jacob Finney, Dieppe, NB; and grand cat Lugsie. She was predeceased by her husband, David Smeltzer.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday July 13, 2021 at Trinity United Church, 101 Edgewater St., Mahone Bay, Rev. Lee Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral attendance at the church will be limited to a maximum of 70 people and there will be no visitation.

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church, the Victorian Order of Nurses or a charity of your choice.

Many thanks to the VON who were instrumental in allowing Arlean to maintain her independence, to the Lunenburg County Home Support Services who provided Arlean not only with support services but also companionship, to the folks who delivered her groceries, her mail and her medications from the local pharmacy and her many friends that were so very important to her and gave her so much joy.
