Barry Benjamin Swinamer
1933-2022

He was born in Western Shore as the son of Frank and Arlene Swinamer (Young).
Barry started in the work force young having to support his family by working in the woods logging and Christmas treeing as an early teen. He then worked for the Canadian National Railroad as a line maintenance worker throughout Nova Scotia for eight years. He then became a steel re-enforcement technician and a carpenter of drywall and acoustic ceilings for nearly forty five years. In his spare time, Barry enjoyed woodworking, gardening, star gazing and spraying ants. Many good memories were made camping with family and especially at his camp in Forest Home.
He was predeceased by his wife Marina (Rafuse), the love of his life. Now he is at peace and they are finally reunited. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Gail (Hatt), Cheryl (Bell), Angela (Cummings), and son Benjamin, “Ben”.
He was also predeceased by siblings Franklin and Naida (Hamm) and son-in-law Gary Ingram. His other siblings include, Joy (Adams), Thomas, Stella (Myra), Cecil, Charles (Charlie) and Morris.
Barry’s grandchildren include Denise, Ellen, Aaron, Vicki, Anthony, Andrew, Genoa, Shelby, Darian, Cyara, and Krystle. Great-grandchildren include Mya, Preston, Liam, Lars, Adalyn, Flora, Mattie, Solan and Enley.
Special thanks to EHS paramedics, VON and Blanche Conway for their support, love and assistance.
