Charles Edward Clarence Zwicker
It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Edward Clarence Zwicker, 67, of Blockhouse, announce his passing on Monday, December 26, 2022, at the Halifax Infirmary.

Born in Blockhouse, he was the son of Violet (Joudrey) and the late Clarence Zwicker.

In his younger years, Charles graduated from the forest mechanic course at the vocational school in Bridgewater. He then started his career working in the woods for Ernst Forest Products, in Oakland. For the next 27 years, Charles was employed at Olin Spidle’s Box Factory, on the Big Lots Road. After the factory closed, Charles worked at Elmer Lohnes Lumbering, in Wileville before ending his working days at Corkum’s Recycling Depot.

Charles was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed bowling, baseball and watching the Montreal Canadiens. He was an active member of the Blockhouse Fire Department for 48 years. Charles was member of the United Baptist Church, Mahone Bay, serving as a trustee for many years.

He will be sadly missed by his mother, Violet; brother, Clifton (Felicia), Bayport; sister, Vivian Webber, Blockhouse; nieces, Holly (Adam) Snook, Stratford, Ontario; Nicole (Ueli) Haltner, Ten Mile Lake, Nova Scotia; Bruce Mersey and many other cousins.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Mark Webber; cousin Earl Mersey.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the United Baptist Church, 56 Maple Street, Mahone Bay, Rev. Sherrolyn Riley officiating. Mask’s are recommended.

Reception will follow at the Blockhouse and District Fire Department, 510 NS Hwy. 325, Blockhouse.

A graveside committal service will take place at the Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse, at a later date.

Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Blockhouse and District Fire Department; United Baptist Church, Mahone Bay; SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
