MacDONALD, Clifford Davis “Dave” - Sackville

It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Dave MacDonald, age 75 on March 27, 2024.

Born on June 9, 1948, in Halifax, NS, Dave was the oldest son of the late Catherine and Donald MacDonald, and has a younger sister, Linda.

Dave leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary (nee Britton). Dave was a proud father to his three children, Catherine (Jeff Parsons), David (Tara MacEachern) and Holly (Jay Melanson). He adored his grandchildren Dawn (Mathias), Kyle (Nikki), Bradly (Taylor), Cory, Colton, Ben, Alex and Casey and his great grandchildren, Autumn, Amelia, Adalynn, Zoey, Lilly, and Elijah.

Dave spent his career at the Department of Transportation, spending much of his time at the Miller Lake, Bedford and Beechville locations. Dave’s love for sports was well known. He coached minor baseball for over 30 years in the Lower Sackville area and would spend hours chatting with his friends and loved ones about baseball, hockey, or wrestling. Dave’s fondness for collecting sports cards and his passion for woodworking will remain a cherished memory for all who knew him. Dave and Mary lived most of their life in Sackville, however in the last few years they made Gold River, NS their home.

A memorial service and celebration of Dave’s life will be held at Bedford Legion, 1172 Bedford Highway on April 20, 2024 between 2- 4 PM.
