Ralph R. "Skip" Turple

Ralph Ronald “Skip” Turple- 80, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at Hillside Pines, Bridgewater.

Born in Oakfield, Hfx. Co., he was a son of the late William and Irene Turple.

Prior to his retirement in 1988, Ralph “Skip” worked for MacKay’s Fibreglass; MacLean’s Shipbuilding, Mahone Bay; Scotia Trawlers and National Sea Products, Lunenburg.

He is survived by daughter, Bonnie (Darrell) Swinimer; son, Garry (Madeleine); grandchildren, Tanya and Tammy Swinimer; Jason (Jennifer) Turple; Michelle (Andrew) Cross; four great-grandchildren, Emma Cross, Sophia Cross, Sydney Turple, Nathan Turple; sister, Alice Parks; brother, Vernon; nieces and nephews.

Ralph “Skip” was predeceased by his wife, Jean; son, Craig; sisters, Susie Parker, Ruth King, Pearl Turple; brothers, Earl, George, Arthur, Clarie.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay and where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2010, Rev. Ian Wissler officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. A special thank you to Rev. Ian Wissler and the staff at Hillside Pines.
